Amesbury Playground

Wendy and Hyrum had a half day of school, so Sabrina and I walked and we spent some time at the playground.  We had fun.  Sabrina climbed the ropes for the first time, and even I got into the fun.

Bridal Veil Falls

Bridal Veil Falls was the last stop on our adventures with Tammie, Rob, and Todd.  It was worth the stop, although the drive there was again on a dirt road.  God sure knows how to create beauty!

After seeing the falls, and hugging one another we said our good-byes and our visitors headed north to the airport and we headed 7 hours south, back home.  Yes, 7 hours!!  It was a long drive but we broke it up with a stop for lunch, and a stop at a park.  I also stopped for a couple of 20 minute catnaps as well.

Kawhia Hot Water Beach

This was one of the highlights of the trip.  Kawhia Hot Water Beach.  We arrived at low tide, and quickly found that hot water truly could be found and a personal or family size hot-tub could be built.  As the tide came in we lost a few to the waves, but had fun building others as the sun set.  It was a beautiful beach that we had almost to ourselves.  The kids both young and old enjoyed the sand, the water and the waves.

Waitomo and Wilderness

We started the day with a tour of 2 caves in Waitomo.  We then drove to Kawhia stopping at a waterfall along the way.  We also took the scenic route, but got there eventually.

Waitomo Caves
Walk to the cave.  We saw a lot of sheep and witnessed some dogs herding them.  We also saw an eel.

Cave 1:  This is the cave were we saw the glowworms.  It is an amazing sight to sit in a boat and see what looks like the milky way over head. Beautiful!

Cave 2:  This cave was more like the ones I have been in before.  Stalagmites, Stalactites, and rocks galore.  It was beautiful, but in a different way.

Marokopa Falls
This is a magnificent waterfall.
