An unusually warm (although not balmy) Sunday in March we took a family trip to the park.  I loved the silhouette pictures taken on top of the hill.  We had some good family time.

Cruising the Caribbean: Part VI

The final Days

February 24 - 25th

We were able to spend some of our last hours swimming.  We enjoyed the waterpark and the hot tubs the most.  The pools themselves were a bit cold.

Kyle, Wendy, Grandma, Grandpa, and I attended a towel folding workshop.  We all made dogs and elephants.  I tried my hand before the class started and made a stingray and a cobra.

The girls posed with all the towel animals that were done in Grandma and Grandpa's room.

The final day at sea ended up being quite a bit longer than planned.  We were supposed to disembark by 9am, but due to a medical emergency the boat had to detour to get the person onto a coast guard boat and we were 4 hours late.  We were blessed to be in a suite and got off the boat at noon and onto a shuttle at 12:30.  We ran to catch our flight, but catch it we did.
Sailing into Galveston, and waiting in the lounge.  Even though we were still on the boat we could not be in our rooms.

Cruising the Caribbean: Part V

 Cozumel, Mexico

February 23, 2023

Our main outing was swimming with the dolphins at Dolphinarium. It was fun to swim belly to belly, receive a kiss, and shake hands.

Before we took our dolphin excursion we spent time relaxing on board and exploring the marketplace.

On our way back to the boat we took time to get a family picture, Louis our Cruise director photo bombed one of them.

The boys having fun at dinner!!

Cruising the Caribbean: Part IV

 Belize City, Belize

February 22, 2023

The day started with a bus ride through Belize City and the surrounding countryside.  The guides spoke the entire time telling us history and stories.  We then took a boat down the river to get to our destination, the Lamania Mayan Ruins.

Lamanai Mayan Ruins

Mask temple we were able to climb and explore.  It was interesting to hear some of the theories of what different symbols meant.

The Jaguar Temple

Belize's National Flower the Black Orchid

Our final stop was having a yummy lunch.  The beans and rice were very good.

I of course had to get my flower pictures.  Unfortunately a cactus poked me when I was reaching for one of these gorgeous flower pictures and it left quite the bruise.

Heading back to the water taxi back to the boat.  Belize is surrounded by a reef that does not allow the big ships in, so we had to be shuttled both ways.  It was quite choppy.
