Guesthouse of Rastburg

Our last night we spent in a bed and breakfast in Langenbach.  The view from our window was this little church.  The following morning we woke up and caught our flight home.  A wonderful vacation came to its end.

Hall of Liberation near Kelheim, Germany

Liberation Hall
King Ludwig I of Bavaria built this magnificent memorial to remember the victory over Napoleon in the War of Liberation.  It was started in 1842.  It is a massive building!  We climbed about 250 steps to reach the top, the view was magnificent.

Regensburg, Germany

Regensburg is a town further up the Danube river.  After our hike in the forest we drove to Regensburg where we spent the evening and following morning exploring.  It is a very old town with quite a few Roman ruins.  Some walls contain parts of the original Roman building.  The Stone Bridge was built in the 12th Century, pretty awesome engineering.  The St. Peter's Cathedral is in the center of Regensburg and is a great landmark from almost anywhere in the city.

Bavarian Forest National Park

We started our Sunday disembarking and attending church.  It was a very small branch, only one youth and no primary.  There were people who could speak English and translate so we understood and had a great time worshiping our Savior.

After church we hit the road.  Our first stop was Germany's first national park, the Bavairan Forest National Park.  We took a short hike and had a picnic lunch.  It was cold!!!  We even saw snow.
