Wendy's Birthday!

Wendy celebrated her first birthday on Tuesday, June 22nd. How this year with her has flown. She loved the little piano she received, and the basket full of picnic supplies from Grandma and Grandpa Flamm was a hit. She loved putting things in and taking them back out. Wendy is getting close to walking, she has the balance, but has not mustered the courage to go it on her own. I think she figures there is no reason when she can get anywhere she wants crawling.

Wendy visited the doctor the day after her birthday. She weighs 17 lbs 3 oz. and is 27 1/2 in. tall. This puts her in the 2nd and 8th percentiles respectively. She is small like all my kids at this stage, but she sure is cute.

Happy Birthday Wendy!!!!

Girl's Camp

Life's an Adventure: Be Strong
The Super Hero Way

I had a wonderful time last week at Girl's Camp. We went to the Cub River Ranger Station which was a beautiful place and had great amenities. The first night, Wednesday, it poured. We even had grape sized hail. It was also freezing!!!! But the weather just kept getting better from there on out. By Friday some of us were getting sunburns. I love the group of girls with whom I get to associate. They are so kind to one another and willing to help. Camp is such a wonderful time to really get to know one another and learn to love one another more. I would have to say that on those two accounts camp was successful. We also had a great time learning about becoming Super Heroes and learning about our Savior who is our biggest Hero. Here are pictures of Eric and Zach in my superhero cape when I returned. Mine had a smiley face on the back with the letters HOPE, they stood for Happy, Optimistic, Positive, Exemplar. That was my super hero identity. We had a lot of fun!!

Happy Birthday Eric!

Eric is now 3!! He had two great days of birthday fun. Saturday, the day before his birthday, he had the official party. Both sets of grandparents, the Flamm great grandparents, Emily, Brad, Judd, and all but the youngest Flamm cousin came to celebrate. He had a volcano cake, and received a treasure box full of goodies. Then on Sunday, he was able to request what he wanted for dinner. He wanted spaghetti and pancakes. Dad supplied both.  He made the pancakes sweet with chocolate chips so it was his birthday cake. What fun!!!

Action from the Marvelous month of May

Here is the Flamm Family in action. I hope you enjoy seeing the fun that we had in May!!

Snow!
This first clip is after the ward father and sons camp-out. It was held May 21st, and it snowed. They ended up leaving for home at about 5 in the morning because their tent caved in because of the snow. Kyle said that it did not even wake up the boys. We got the tent out to put it up to dry and found pockets of snow. A snow ball fight in May, What FUN!!!

Water Fun!
Here we are at the end of the month playing in the sprinkler. Wendy got wet, but decided she liked the dirt better, so she ended up a mess. The boys loved getting wet and spraying each other. Kyle had a great time controlling the water and surprising the boys. They would put things over the sprinkler and then Kyle would wait and turn it up so that it would spray off. They had a lot of fun!

Bubbles!
Bubbles are always fun. Zachary and Eric can spend enormous amounts of time chasing and popping bubbles.

The Beach!
Family at the beach!! All the kids and adults loved visiting the beach in Florida this month. Eric was very interested in finding shells, Kyle was nice enough to spend time walking along the beach with him in search of the perfect shell. Zachary loved the sand, the water, the people, the boats, the atmosphere. He had a great time! Wendy surprised me by having no qualms about getting dirty. She loved the mud, and amazingly did not try to eat it.

Disney World!
We did not take too many videos of our time in Disney World, but here are a couple that at least demonstrate we were there. The first is on the ride "It's a Small World". The second is the act in the Italy section of Epcot. Zachary was able to participate twice and really enjoyed it. the act was a bit long so I spliced it.

Hope you enjoyed being a part of the Flamm Family Fun action.
Have a wonderful day!

Florida!!

Florida was great!!!
Our vacation started with the AGM (annual general meeting) that Kyle's work puts on. This year it was on Marco Island, with white sand beaches, good food, and a fun children's swimming pool. Eric loved searching for shells on the beach, Zachary kept busy being friendly with other resort guests at the pool, and Kyle and I enjoyed a sailboat ride. Kyle and I also enjoyed having my parents with us, because it meant that we could participate in more of the activities at night. The formal was fun. Kyle was handsome in his tux, and the entertainment unusual. Thanks!! Mom and Dad for being with the kids each night!!!

After the AGM was over we spent a morning down near the everglades. We went on a air boat ride through a mangrove forest. There we saw alligators. We then drove up to Jenifer and Jamie's home in Lakeland. The meal we had there was delicious.

We then spent two days and Walt Disney World. The first day was at the Magic Kingdom. We had the best guides, Jenifer, Jamie, and Joey. We never had a wait of more than 20 minutes so we went on plenty of rides, enjoyed the fireworks, and had a very magical day. Eric loved the "Pooh Bear ride" so we ended up going on it 4 times. The next day was spent at Epcot. It was fun to see different acts. Zachary participated in two. He was able to talk with Crush during an interactive animated presentation with the turtle from "Finding Nemo" Crush even said his name back to him. He also participated with the juggler/mime that was in the Italy section.

The final day of our vacation was spent relaxing with the Sims and visiting a children's museum in Lakeland. It was very fun to see how big Joey is getting and to visit with Jenifer and Jamie. Thank-you for your hospitality. We loved spending time with you.

We had a wonderful time on vacation; however, now we are back. It is hard to get back into the swing of everyday things after a vacation, but we are managing. We look forward to the upcoming summer months and the reunions and vacations that come.

That Hurt!!

Eric decided to step in front of a swing yesterday!! It was a traumatic experience. Eric reacts to pain or discomfort by running around. He will not sit still to be cleaned up, or just simply to contain the mess. A couple of weeks ago he was sick and throwing-up. I tried to get him to throw-up in a bowl, but every time he simply ran all over whatever room he was in, it made for quite the clean up. The same thing happened with a bloody nose. His face was a sight after he finally settled down. I did not take a photo then, but here is a picture of his shiner this morning.

New Family Photo

Last weekend Zachary discovered that the camera had a button that would delay when the picture would be taken. We used this discovery to talk him and Eric into a family photo. So, here it is!!!
