Wendy's Birthday Celebrations!

Wendy got to celebrate her 4th birthday twice.  Once the day of her birthday at the Haroldsen Reunion and then when we returned home with Dad.  She was excited to get gifts both times, and loved all the attention.  She said that now she is 4 she can swim, go to preschool, and grow up.  We sure do love our sweet little Wendy.  She has a ready smile, a desire to be a princess, and the ability to get rough with the boys.

Eric's Birthday

 Happy 6th Birthday!!!
Eric had a great birthday.  He was excited for Dad to come home, because then the party would begin. We had a quick little party at home  (opening presents and blowing out the candles), and then we took the festivities to Chucky Cheese.  He has been asking to go there for his birthday for a long time.  I told him that it would only be family and that we would not eat there just play the games and he said that that would be wonderful.  We did have a great time there as a family.

Eric is a little boy who loves to create and collect.  In fact one of his gifts was a box for underbed storage specifically for his collection.  The idea is that once it is full he will have to start getting rid of some of the stuff rather than just keep adding to the mess:)  He likes being right and is quite vocal when he feels he has been wronged.  He still loves sucking his thumb and has no desire to stop.  Eric's smile is huge and contagious.  He is a joy to have in our home, and a great brother.

Reunions

Reunions = Great Fun!!

We were able to head to Idaho for a couple of weeks and hit the Schwieder and Haroldsen Reunion on consecutive weekends.  Kyle was able to come to the first reunion, but had to be back to work the following week.  We missed him :(  So here are a few of the highlights from the reunions and the week in between.

Schwieder Reunion June 14-17
It was cold the first day, especially for us southerners.  But the rest of the weekend was beautiful.  Pictures below clockwise:  Hyrum playing in the ditch, he loved getting wet.  Eric after taking a dip in the hot tub, his favorite activity was foosball.  Kyle relaxing.  Wendy striking a pose she even taught me how to do this one, Zachary playing in the lodge he loved having other boys to play with.

The next pictures are just random pictures of us partying!

Haroldsen Reunion ~June 21-24
After a week spent at grandmas house we went back up to the lodge for the second reunion.  It was also a ton of fun.  Here are all the old folks :)
Back l-r: Gwen Schwieder, Donna Haroldsen, Fred Haroldsen, Kathy Haroldsen, Lynn Misner, DeAnne Johnson
Front l-r: David Schwieder, Brent Haroldsen, Craig Haroldsen, Eric Johnson

Thanks, Eric for the pictures of the kids they are great.  The kids loved building and then destroying castles, playing air hockey, and running wild.  I enjoyed the hot tub.  Wendy celebrated her birthday, which was a highlight for her.

The weather finally cooperated and we were able to launch rockets (much to Zachary's relief).  It was a hit with everyone and only one rocket was lost to nature, it was left at the top of a tree.

Zachary with his retrieved rocket.  He made the rocket with Grandma at Christmas time, so he was super excited to see it launch.

The best part of reunions is reconnecting with people.  I had a wonderful time doing that.  It is amazing what changes in peoples lives when things seem to be moving slowly in mine :)  We definitely had some Flamm Family Fun and plan on continuing to do so at upcoming reunions.

Idaho Falls Zoo

We visited the Idaho Falls Zoo the week we were at Grandma and Grandpa Schwieder's house.  Kyle Schwieder's family met us there and we had a great time.  Our Jackson Zoo pass got us in YAY!  We got to see baby bears, and the lions were even walking.  It was a fun outing.

Surgery

Zachary had surgery June 3rd.  He was very brave.  As we were leaving the hospital he turned to me and said that he was glad he received a blessing that morning because the Holy Ghost helped him be brave.  We arrived at the hospital at 8am and returned home at 2pm.  He spent most of his time while waiting for the surgery to begin and the recovery period after, reading or listening to me read Harry Potter.  He is doing great post surgery.
Reading in the waiting room.

Zachary being silly before surgery.  We had fun with each other in between answering questions.

Zachary waking up after surgery.  He just wanted to rest.
