Hyrum's Baptism

Hyrum chose to be baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  We are so proud of him.  He truly does have an understanding of the gospel, even if he is always moving he is listening too.

Mounds and Covered Bridges

Mounds State Park and Parke County's covered bridges were two trips we were able to take when Grandparents were visiting.  Mounds State Park was Saturday morning, we then listened to conference on the way home.  The covered bridges were seen while the big kids were in school.  Both were enjoyable excursions.

Mounds State Park
Mounds State Park is named due to some Indian Mounds that are on the property.  It had some short hikes and we were able to help the ranger feed the animals.  One exciting thing was a box turtle was just digging itself out of the dirt after a long winter underground.

Parke County Covered Bridges

The bridges were a nice country drive.  Most we could drive through, but a few had been bypassed with other more modern bridges so we walked through.  At the Bridgeton Mill they we stopped for ice cream.  I tried Sweet Potato Pie and Persimmon both which were delicious.

Hyrum's Birthday

Happy, Happy Birthday Hyrum Dear.  It is always a place of excitement and energy when Hyrum is around.  He loves to hug people. He is very active and loves to climb, and play outside.  He will play with anyone who is outside and easily makes new friends.  His favorite color is green and he likes to eat cake and pizza.  He is good at finishing his jobs without alot of asking.  He is getting better at reading and enjoys math at school.

Children's Museum with Grandparents

Another adventure we had during Spring Break was visiting the Indianapolis Children's Museum with Grandma and Grandpa Schwieder.  It was a busy day full of all sorts of fun.
We were able to learn about the Terracotta Soldiers which were found buried in China.  Here Eric and Wendy stand by a soldier they put together from broken pieces.  The other picture is of the family discussing the water clock and how it worked.  Grandpa was in his element explaining the science behind it.  Everyone was interested and we spent almost ten minutes watching it work.

The first two pictures in this row are of family lying on the rotating bench and watching the shapes in the ceiling.  It is filled with glass blown objects, which are the bottom of a 3 story sculpture.  It is relaxing and enjoyable.  The next picture is of me in a mirror that helps me thin out, I liked it!  The last is of Eric with his Potato Head creation.

Here is a photo with the Chocolate backdrop, which was a must for Sabrina.  Then the kids posing/playing on the scuba display.  We learned about the discovery of a sunken Pirate ship.  Below is discovering dinosaur bones, Dad next to his Egyptian tomb guide and hat twin, and Wendy with her scuba gear.

Another section to the Childrens' Museum is called Sports Legends.  It has a small indoor display and then a huge outdoor play area.  There are activities for basketball, golf, baseball, soccer, football, tennis, pedal cars at a Speedway, a tree house, and a track with exercise equipment spaced along the way.  It was fun!

You made it to the end of the post, wow!  Above are a video of a interactive display about Soybean crops and bugs, and Mom and Wendy being Newscasters.
