Playing in the rain

We had a downpour yesterday evening and Zachary wanted to play in the rain.  At first I was hesitant, in all my experience playing in the rain was cold.  However, I learned differently, it was beautiful, warm, and fun.  Even Hyrum and I went to watch for a while under the protection of a large umbrella.

Jumping off the "diving board"

Here are pictures of the boys jumping from the "diving board."  It is actually one of the life guard posts and is a few feet above the water.  Both boys have done it on their own, but they have also had a bit of encouragement at other times.  Zachary can now jump off and swim across the pool or do 1/2 the pool on his stomach, turn over and swim on his back the rest of the way.  Eric is striving to learn how to breath and keep going.  Currently he can start out great, but when it comes time to breath he sort of stands up and starts treading water rather than swimming.  Wendy and I have also gotten in the water a few times and had a great time.  She will put her nose in the water, float on her back and kick her legs.  We have a lot of fun.

Puffed Sleeves

Wendy got a package in the mail this week from her Grandma.  She was very excited.  Today she wore the dress that she found inside.  Isn't she just cute.  I have always heard of puffed sleeves, but now I understand more fully what that means.  We got a few comments that she looked like a doll.

P.S.  This little boy can roll over.

Happy Independence Day!!!

I wish y'all a happy 4th of July.  We had a great time at the fireworks today, the weather was perfect, 80 degrees with a light breeze.  The fireworks were fun, Zachary watched a few and then wanted to share his snacks with all the others trying to watch.  Eric kept saying "That one was the most amazing!"  Wendy sought comfort in Daddy's arms after the first few were going to "get her",  she then enjoyed the rest of the show.  Hyrum woke up but didn't start screaming, instead he just watched wide eyed.  Earlier in the day we took a family photos, the one on the left is the one I tweaked so that I liked it. The picture on the right bottom was the original, and the top is the one that Hyrum's alert expression came from.  I think everyone looks normal despite the changes :)
