Crazy Kids

Kids can be crazy.  Eric has found that it is fun to take selfies and videos on my phone.  I have found some fun pieces waiting for me.

Christchurch Botanic Gardens

These 3 pictures are flowers found on our walk to the cruise in Akoroa, but I included them here with the Botanic Garden flowers.

The Christchurch Botanic Gardens were gorgeous.  We went on Sunday afternoon, it was cold and wet, but with raincoats we survived and enjoyed the beauty surrounding us.

Willowbank Reserve and Maori Show

Satruday evening we attended a Maori Show and ate a delicious Maori Hangi.  It was both entertaining and educational.  The food was just delicious.

While we were waiting for dessert they invited the kids to feed the deer at the Reserve.  We had a great time doing so.

We decided to go back to the reserve on Monday too see the animals.  We were able to see Kiwi, Owl, Kea, Pukeko, Weka birds; as well as many farm animals.  It was a wet, fun time of exploring the bush.

Akaroa Bay

Akoroa Bay

We spent Saturday morning driving to Akaroa Bay.  It was a beautiful although full of curvy roads.  The Cruise of the Bay was stunning.  The water was a brilliant blue color due to the minerals from the volcanoes that formed the bay originally.  We were able to see Seals, Little White Flippered Penguins, Hector Dolphins, Sea Birds, and plenty of gorgeous scenery.

Castle Rock Boulders

Kura Tawhiti or Castle Rock Conservation Area was a fun stop on our way back to Christchurch.  It was a hot day, but getting out of the car to explore and climb was worth it.  Some of the boulders were huge and had climbers on them.  We stuck to the smaller rocks but had a great time.
