Flamm Reunion 2010

Breakfast in our room. The accommodations were great, the boys had a room, Wendy took the living room, and Kyle and I had a room.

Eric and Wendy on the train. Eric was particularly funny when the whistle blew, he did not like how loud it was.

Kids swimming in the pool at the hotel. Zachary did very well with the floaty on his arms. Wendy loved the water. Eric had fun once he finally got in. The second time we went swimming a shallow pool was open and he claimed it for his own and had a great time.

Here we are at the zoo. It was a lot of fun. The boys particularly liked the giraffes. We were able to see the bird show, ride the train, ride the carousel, and the habitat presentation. Zach and Eric were able to touch a snake and a rabbit.

The 2010 Curtis Flamm Family Reunion was a success. It was held in Park City, UT. It was nice to get away from home, but not have to go too far to get there. Here is a brief itinerary of what we experienced. The pictures already told much of the story.

Monday: Checked in and then the kids checked out our accommodations
Tuesday: Swimming, Adventure with Dad, Shopping at the Outlets, Ride on the Heber Creeper (a train), Games
Wednesday: Shopping, Visit to the Zoo, Picnic
Thursday: Swimming, An Adventure in the Rain with Mom, Walk up Main Street, Games
Friday: Check out, The Clark Planetarium, Home

A count to 10 moment!

I came upstairs to find Eric and Wendy playing in the kitchen. I had heard Wendy laughing and had thought to myself, "Wow, Eric is being very good with Wendy right now." Well they were playing well with each other and an entire bag of flour, which was all over the kitchen floor. I admit that my first reaction was not kind, and Eric was chastised.

However, after calming myself down (hence the title of this blog) I was able to see the fun they were having. Eric was being quite creative, and Wendy was in heaven making the flour puff. Amazingly, Zachary was not involved at all. He was playing in the living room. I got the shop vac out and both of them had baths, so all is well.

How did she get so big?

Wendy is growing up way to fast!! Here are two videos that show some of her new talents. The first is her listening, understanding, and doing what Kyle asks. While we were camping if her binkie was in her mouth then rocks and dirt were not. Kyle started asking her to put her binkie in and she did! I tried a few times and sometimes she listened, but Kyle definitely was more successful. The second video is of her walking. Each day she becomes more steady on her feet and more willing to walk rather than crawl. She is still so little that it is hard to imagine she really is old enough to walk, but she is. Enjoy!

Leigh Lake

What a beautiful place!!

We just got back from a wonderful camping trip to Leigh Lake in Grand Teton National Park. Kyle took the top picture using a stitch feature on our camera. I think it turned out amazing. We canoed most of the gear in and the kids and a couple of adults hiked in, about 2.5 miles. Both Zachary and Eric were great hikers. Wendy rode on our backs and was very content. Both the boys loved the beach, and Zachary was brave enough to take a few dips in the glacier fed lake. Brrrrrrrrr!!! We were able to see a little wildlife. The deer simply walked through camp. Although the mosquitoes were thick sometimes, and we all got dirty we had a great time. It is amazing what children can do to entertain themselves when there isn't TV or all their many toys available. Heavenly Father really knows how to make beautiful places, I'm so grateful we were able to spend a few days enjoying this wonderful world.

All the Kyle Flamm family was there and we were joined by my mom and dad, my older brother Kyle and his two oldest girls Katelyn and Addison, and my younger sister Shanalee and her little boy Elden. Here is a picture of all the cousins minus Wendy who was just too little to explore with us.

4th of July

The 4th of July, celebrated on the 3rd, was a huge success for the Flamm family. We began by eating a pancake breakfast. The boys were able to get Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes. We then watched the parade. Bother and Sister Baham were kind to offer their yard to the ward.

The end of the parade has a big water fight. Zachary loved it, and Brother Green was kind enough to let him use his water gun and help him aim.

After the parade we had lunch there, it was delicious and fun for the kids to be with other children. It was definitely time for naps so home we went. Kyle was kind enough to allow me to take a nice long nap as well. The evening began with a trip over to the kids center where they had a lot of blowup slides, and bouncy toys to play with. Zachary and Eric had a blast and could have stayed there for hours.

The Slide The Fireworks

We finished the evening by going to Kaysville Theater and watching "How to Train Your Dragon" with Judd and Melanie's family. We then watched the Kaysville fireworks. The day was full and fun!! Happy 4th of July to everyone!

Put your hands in the air!

We spent a few good hours on some mighty fun field trips in June. Today I will just post about a small portion of one we took at the beginning of June. We visited Tracy Aviary. After seeing all the birds we then visited the small selection of amusement park rides there. We had a lot of fun. Look forward to more posts about other fun field trips we enjoy this summer.

Zachary, Wendy, and Eric on the carousel. Zachary picked the Zebra, Eric named his horse Seesaw, Wendy was so cute holding on to the pole.

The boys also rode on the little airplane ride. Eric requested the shark plane.

It's time for a change!

I thought I would make a few changes on how the blog looks, and learn how to do a few new things. Here is my first attempt at making photos popup in a new window. Hopefully I'll continue to learn and it will be more and more exciting to read the Flamm Family Fun Blog.
