Zachary's Baptism

Zachary chose to be baptized and we were thrilled.  He was baptized September 14, 2013.  It was a wonderful afternoon.  Both of the grandmas gave the talks and they were wonderful.  The best part was that Zachary paid attention and I hope got something out of it.  It was wonderful to have Kyle baptize him.  It amazes me that I have a child old enough to be baptized.

Wendy and Hyrum

Since the boys have gone back to school, Wendy and Hyrum have been a joy to have at home.  I have been pleasantly surprised by how well they play together.  Most of the time Wendy tells Hyrum what to do and Hyrum follows right along.  I think it very cute when Hyrum wants something a particular way and will mime what he wants until Wendy gets it.  Most of the time she is patient with his communication.  Here they are teeter-tottering and smiling with the fuzzy caterpillar they found in the house.

Zachary's 8th Birthday

Zachary had a great birthday, September 10th.  He has been counting down to three events the past week 1. His birthday, 2. Grandparents coming, and 3. His baptism.  He was super excited to be able to check off the first on his list.  

Wendy, Hyrum and I surprised him at school to eat lunch with him.  We brought a special treat, strawberries.  Then when he came home the wait for Dad to come home began.  He was quite patient.  When Dad arrived we had his favorite dinner, Macaroni and Cheese.  It has not changed since he could request a meal.  We then opened gifts and had cake.  Zachary was a true gentleman when opening presents.  Each gift brought a smile to his face and a excited thank-you to the giver.  Now we are just counting down to the next events.

The second graders had a little hoedown that we were invited to.  They learned a circle dance, dressed up in cowpoke gear, and performed it for us.  They did a great job and had a lot of fun.  What a handsome cowboy!
