Christmas Morning

Google Photos was nice enough to put together a video of our Christmas morning.  We had a fun time opening presents.  there were a lot of smile, some surprises, and thank-yous galore.

Wendy was invited to a pajama Christmas party.  She had a great time.

Kyle and I were able to get dressed up and attend one of his co-workers weddings.  It was a traditional catholic wedding and I enjoyed the singing and tradition. 

Guesthouse of Rastburg

Our last night we spent in a bed and breakfast in Langenbach.  The view from our window was this little church.  The following morning we woke up and caught our flight home.  A wonderful vacation came to its end.

Hall of Liberation near Kelheim, Germany

Liberation Hall

King Ludwig I of Bavaria built this magnificent memorial to remember the victory over Napoleon in the War of Liberation.  It was started in 1842.  It is a massive building!  We climbed about 250 steps to reach the top, the view was magnificent.     

Regensburg, Germany

Regensburg is a town further up the Danube river.  After our hike in the forest we drove to Regensburg where we spent the evening and following morning exploring.  It is a very old town with quite a few Roman ruins.  Some walls contain parts of the original Roman building.  The Stone Bridge was built in the 12th Century, pretty awesome engineering.  The St. Peter's Cathedral is in the center of Regensburg and is a great landmark from almost anywhere in the city.
