Auckland: Whagarei Falls, Langs Beach

Whangarei Falls is found in Whangarei about 2.5 hours North from Auckland  The drive up we stopped at the sheep farm, the drive back at the beach.  The falls itself was a nice 15 minute walk and the kids had fun laying on the rocks in the stream.

 Langs Beach was a nice stop on our way back to Auckland.  It was a bit chilly, but beautiful and fun.

Auckland: Harbor Cruise and Sky Tower

One day we spent the morning on a harbor cruise, which was enjoyable.  The captain was very good about letting us know what we were seeing.  We also took a short stop to walk around an island in the bay.  After the cruise we walked to the Sky Tower where we enjoyed the view and had a delicious lunch.

Christmas Prep

 We had a few activities we participated in preparing us for Christmas.  We went to visit Santa Groto and participated in a treasure hunt there.  We also did some Christmas crafts and explored a Christmas display downtown.  Also not pictured we made and decorated cookies and delivered them as we went caroling to our neighbors.  Lots of Fun!

Windy Wellington Park

We had to go downtown to sign our lease and decided to stop by a park/beach that we had not seen before.  The kids had fun on the playground although it was very windy.  None of us dared venture our on the beach with all that wind and waves.

End of the School Year

The end of term 4 brought a lot of activities.  Zachary and Eric attended a week long camp, Wendy spent a night at the school with activities away from the school for 2 days, and Hyrum had a day that they stayed after school for activities and then met the family for a picnic.  They all participated in the 4th Term Community Expo.  Zachary was an organizer, Eric participated in the paper folding booth, Wendy and a friend put on a gymnastics show, and Hyrum did a puppet show.  Zachary had some special times as he was finishing his time at primary school.   I think he is excited and nervous about intermediate school.  All the kids loved the activities and were excited for the summer break and Christmas to come.

Sabrina participated in a dance class from October to December.  She absolutely loved it, and the teachers loved her.  She was always willing to participate and quickly caught on to the routine.  Dance is definitely her thing as she does it whenever she hears music, or sometimes makes her own.

After an evening of Christmas shopping at the mall, we decided to stop by the beach on our way home.  It was bit chilly when the wind blew but otherwise a beautiful evening.  We built a dam in a little stream that was going to the ocean and had a lot of fun.
