Fall Break 2021

We left for our adventure Friday, October 8 after school.  We drove 5 hours to our first stop just outside of Charleston, West Virginia.  The next morning we woke up, and drove another 6 hours to Charlotte North Carolina.  There we were able to meet up with Dale and Graham for dinner and a picnic the next day.  Here are a few pictures from the drive and the stops along the way.
We saw a rainbow at the beginning of our drive, what a good omen.

The Capitol building and grounds in Charleston, WV

The drive through West Virginia was beautiful!

Brush Creek Falls, West Virginia

As we made it to the trail head for this short .5 mile hike to the falls it began to rain.  I decided I was still going to see the falls, and the others joined me.  It ended up pouring and we were soaked.  We changed our shirts back at the car, but it truly was an adventure.

We went to PF Changs with Dale and Graham.  It was a great evening with great conversation.

Sunday we went to a very nice park and had a picnic with Dale and Graham.  I didn't realized I did not get pictures of people, :(

I thought this Mosquito Meter found by the visitor center was fun.

Congaree National Park in South Carolina.  We made a short stop here, but it was fun.  The boardwalk was up in the trees.  The swampy ground, tall trees, climbing vines, and bright green moss made for beautiful views.

On our drive through South Carolina we saw a lot of cotton fields.  It was very interensting.
